Irouleguy

The Irouléguy vineyard is located between 200 and 400 meters above sea level in the heart of the Basque Country in the Pyrénées Atlantiques department.
With its 270 hectares, it is considered one of the smallest vineyards in France.
Its vines are planted on terraces on steep slopes.
They thrive in a mild, humid, mountainous oceanic climate, under the influence of a hot, dry southerly wind.
It produces white wines made from Courbu blanc, Petit Courbu, Gros and Petit Manseng.
These wines develop floral, citrus and exotic fruit notes.

  • Domaine Bordaxuria -...

In 2012, Elorri Reca and his companion Brice Robelet took over the Bordaxuria estate.
It is located opposite St Jean Pied de Port, on the steep slopes of the Arradoy mountain.

They build a brand new cellar and stop their collaboration with the Irrouléguy cellar to vinify their wine.
Since 2012, the vineyard has been organically farmed, and has been labeled organic since 2015.
There is therefore no longer any use of herbicides or chemical molecules.

It has 9 hectares of vines totally planted in south-facing terraces (5 hectares in red and 4 hectares in white).
The estate produces 5 cuvées (2 reds, 2 whites, 1 rosé).
